What is a booked waste service?

Under normal circumstances, each residential property can receive two booked waste services of their choice per financial year, at no extra cost. This could be:

  • two bulky waste services (each with a four cubic metre limit) OR
  • two chipping services (each with a four cubic metre limit) OR
  • one bulky waste service (with a four cubic metre limit) and one chipping service (with a four cubic metre limit).

During the COVID-19 pandemic Council will be providing two additional free booked waste services (each with a four cubic metre limit) to residents, for bookings that are scheduled for kerbside collection before 1 July 2020.

This service is for bulky household items that would otherwise not fit in your domestic bins. This includes furniture, whitegoods, mattresses (maximum of 2), televisions and computers.

The service is not for:

  • Building material (e.g. bricks, fibro, concrete, plywood)
  • Renovation material (e.g. gyprock, tiles, basins/sinks or cupboards)
  • Landscape material (e.g. dirt, rock, fencing or sleepers)
  • Household rubbish (e.g. food scraps, nappies etc.)

These items will not be collected.

Please place materials neatly in front of your property, clear of paths and driveways, the day before your booked service date.

Where possible we will recover and recycle your bulky waste. To help us recover and recycle material tell us how many of the below items you have when you book:

  • Mattresses
  • Fridges
  • Tyres
  • Televisions
  • Computers
  • Metal

Be sure to follow the guidelines on the amount of waste materials. Examples of four cubic metres are:

  • 2m long x 2m wide x 1m high, or
  • 4m long x 1m wide x 1m high

For safety reasons please don’t stack waste materials higher than 1m or place items out that cannot be lifted by two people.

How to book a waste service

Using the booked waste service is easy. Read and agree to the Service Requirements and Terms and Conditions for the service you want.

Please note: Due to the popularity of the additional booked waste services, wait times have now increased to 3-6 weeks. Council is now looking at ways to try and reduce the wait times, in all zones, again. We thank you for your patience during this period.

Getting started - STEPS

  1. Select a Bulky Waste or Chipping service from one of the two buttons below.
  2. Choose your residential location.
  3. Select from available dates.
  4. Fill in all other details on the form.
  5. Email confirmation will be sent.
  6. Mark down your service day and place materials in front of property one day before your booked service date.
