Face masks to be worn inside Council facilities
It is now mandatory to wear a face mask indoors at facilities where goods and services are provided directly to members of the public.
Face masks must be worn as a condition of entry at the following Council locations:
- Council Customer Service and Service NSW centre (Katoomba)
- Leisure and Aquatic Centres
- Visitor Information Centres
- Blue Mountains Cultural Centre
- Blue Mountains Theatre and Hub
If customers do not have a mask they are advised to first call the facility they wish to visit beforehand.
Under the public health order, a "fitted face covering" means a mask or other covering that fits securely around the face, and is designed or made to be worn over the nose and mouth to provide the wearer with protection against infection. Please note that children under 12 are exempt but are encouraged to wear masks where practicable.
Council is providing reusable face masks to those in vulnerable and at risk groups in the community. The face masks will be available and delivered to the doors of households that meet the criteria of the program. Click here for more information.
Blue Mountains City Council will continue to follow the advice of NSW Health.
