Blue Mountains’ Libraries are doing their part to be a Good Neighbour, offering a Pop-up Library at Home service for vulnerable members of the community.

Pop-up Library @ Home

Seniors and people with disabilities in the Blue Mountains who are self-isolating due to COVID-9, and have limited or no access to our Library’s online eResources can now get books and DVDs delivered to their door.

The Pop-up Library at Home program is another part of Council’s Good Neighbour program.

Good Neighbour is all about supporting each other and building community, especially in these extraordinary and difficult times. This program will help provide some much-needed entertainment and relief for those who are most vulnerable, and isolated in our community.

Books and DVDs delivered as part of the Pop-up Library @ Home are a gift and do not need to be returned. If you do want to recycle them once you’ve enjoyed them, you can bring them in to any Library branch once we’re open.

All requests for books and DVDs will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. There is a limited number of books and DVDs available, so we will be prioritising deliveries based on those in greatest need.
Books and DVDs are selected randomly and unfortunately we can’t accommodate specific requests.

If you are a Blue Mountains Resident over the age of 65, or living with a disability with limited access to online resources, please call the Library on 4723 5040 (Lower Mountains) or 4780 5750 (Upper Mountains) or send an email (with your Name, Address and Phone Number) to bmlibrary@bmcc.nsw.gov.au (and a Librarian will be in contact).

You don’t need to be a Library member to access this service.

Other ways you can access Library resources

All members of the community can access the Library’s full online eResources, including eBooks, audio books, eMagazines, video streaming and more. Visit library.bmcc.nsw.gov.au to find out more and get browsing.
