Katoomba Sports & Aquatic Centre to reopen on 14 September
Katoomba Sports & Aquatic Centre will reopen Monday 14 September at 6am.
NSW Health advised that anyone who visited the centre between 11.30am and 1.30pm on Friday, 4 September should continue to monitor for symptoms of COVID-19.
A person who visited the centre at that time tested positively to the virus on Friday 11 September.
Council staff, who were also at the facility on 4 September and elected to undertake COVID-19 testing, have received negative test results.
A deep clean of the centre will be completed today, so that the centre will be ready to reopen tomorrow.
Blue Mountains City Council will continue to follow the advice of NSW Health.
Mayor Mark Greenhill said: “Our community needs to remain vigilant. We all need to monitor for any symptoms of COVID-19 and get tested if we are at all concerned.”
“My thoughts remain with those who have been affected, including the Blue Mountains Grammar School community.”
NSW Health advised that anyone displaying any of the symptoms of COVID-19 including fever, cough, sore/scratchy throat, shortness of breath or a loss of taste or smell – should get tested at a COVID-19 clinic and self-isolate until results were received.
A COVID-19 drive-through testing clinic is available at Blue Mountains Hospital, and can be access via Woodlands Road Katoomba. Opening hours are 9am-12.30pm and 1pm-4pm 7 days per week.
